Why this partnership.
A spin-off of Ruhr University Bochum, Ingpuls is one of Europe's leading specialists for Nitinol and other shape memory alloys. The company develops and produces materials that change their shape in response to temperature or stress — the basis for actuators, fasteners and medical components.
Bender Group contributes the other half: drawing technology, heat treatment, surfaces and quality assurance for wire from 15.00 mm down to the finest diameters. That is exactly where it is decided whether a smart material also works in series production.
What customers gain.
Customers gain access to SMA materials and the matching wire processing within one coordinated supply chain — from alloy design through actuator wires and springs to ready-to-install semi-finished products.
For development projects this means shorter routes: material selection, prototype wire and scale-up to series production are supported jointly instead of being coordinated across several suppliers.
What happens next.
In a first step both companies are pooling their application engineering for actuators, medical technology and industrial automation. Initial joint product samples are available for customer projects.
