Catheters (diagnostic & interventional)

Fine wires from 0.05–0.07 mm are braided and coated with plastic — without direct tissue contact. This creates catheters that can be guided minimally invasively to the heart or brain. Within the group, the Stamm fine wire plant supplies specialised catheter manufacturers across Europe.

Stents & implant-related components

The highest demands on purity, surface and biocompatibility — met through carefully selected, multiple re-melted stainless grades.

Surgical instruments

Stainless steel wire with defined strengths and the finest surfaces — cleanable, sterilisable, dimensionally stable.

Dental technology

Spring-hard wire for brackets that must not break under orthodontic tension; fine wire for root canal instruments.

Materials & purity

Alloy is not everything — the process matters too.

Mostly austenitic stainless steels are used for medical applications — such as 304V (1.4301, vacuum re-melted) or the molybdenum-alloyed grades 316L (1.4404 / 1.4435). Which grade is right depends on corrosion exposure, strength and purity, and is defined together with the customer. What matters is not just the alloy, but the process: multiple and vacuum re-melted grades reduce inclusions, improve the surface and create reproducibility. Every delivery is traceable through documented batches.
