Your apprenticeship
at the BenderWire Group.
Here you don't just get to know wire — you help shape the material that holds the world together. And you do it in a group that shows you more than a single plant.

What you'll find with us.
For us, an apprenticeship isn't a programme, it's responsibility. We train because we believe in the next generation — and because an industry that holds the world together needs people to carry it forward.

Four things that define your apprenticeship with us.
Between tradition and high tech
We are a grown family business rooted in Hagen — and at the same time work on highly precise plants, our own software and wire thinner than a sixth of your hair. With us you learn both: solid craftsmanship and real innovation.
A career that keeps moving
An apprenticeship with us is not an end point, but a beginning — with real development paths across the whole group. That means you can switch plants, get to know different areas and find your own way, instead of getting stuck in one role.
You see more than one plant
You do your apprenticeship in one plant — but you get to know the whole group. Inter-company training with partner companies is part of it, as is the view beyond your own plant's boundaries: Stamm, Hagener Feinstahl, Sassenscheidt and more. You train at one plant — and see five others.
We keep supporting you
Dual study programmes, language courses, further training of every kind — if you want more, we support you. You have fixed points of contact for your apprenticeship. And you get insight all the way to the top, for example over coffee with the group's management. Because you should understand the group, not just your own workplace.
What has really happened here.
People who did their apprenticeship here — and paths that carried on afterwards.
Inter-company. Cross-plant. With substance.
We want you to understand wire in all its breadth — not just one part of it. That's why your apprenticeship doesn't end at the plant gate.
Learning in a strong community
Around 90% of our technical apprenticeship takes place together with the career workshop of Deutsche Edelstahlwerke (DEW) in Hagen, one of the most renowned training addresses in the industry. Instead of learning as a single apprentice in a small workshop, you're part of a large community there: many apprentices, high standards, real camaraderie. You learn everything specific to our company, from fine wire to our processes, directly with us in the plants of the BenderWire Group. So you get both: the strength of a large training community and the concrete know-how of your own company.
When it fits your apprenticeship, you can spend stations in another plant of the group, for example at Stamm, Hagener Feinstahl or Sassenscheidt. Different plants, different products, different colleagues. That creates a picture that's bigger than a single site.
The BenderWire Group is part of the Bender Group, a family-run mid-sized company with three business divisions and 22 companies. For your apprenticeship this means: you grow not just within one plant, but within a group that is also active in skin care (BenderCosmetics Group) and in operational investments (BenderInvestment Group). So you get insight into a diversely positioned group, not just a wire business.
