23.10.2025 I MD&M 2025 and a visit to Siri Wire
BenderWire Group in Minneapolis:
MedTech innovation at MD&M and exchange at Siri Wire
MD&M Midwest 2025 in Minneapolis was a real industry highlight for us. The event took place on October 21 and 22, 2025 at the Minneapolis Convention Center and united the topics of medical technology, automation, design & manufacturing, plastics and packaging technologies under one roof. It is precisely this "end-to-end" approach that makes the trade fair a central meeting place for the medical device industry, from development to scalable production.
It was a special trade fair experience to see our BenderWire 304NX (Ø 0.011 mm) and the BenderWire 304VX flat wire (0.011 mm × 0.033 mm, high tensile) live in process: on the Braiders MMBT braiding machine from Metro CAD. There, it became immediately apparent what is important for ultra-fine wires for MedTech braiding: consistent geometry, defined mechanical properties and process reliability that remains stable even with extreme dimensions.
Why ultra-fine round and flat wires are so important in MedTech
In many medical technology applications, precision in the micrometer range determines function and reliability. Ultra-fine wires and flat wires play a key role in:
Braids for the reinforcement of catheter and tube systems
Components for minimally invasive instruments
High-precision structural and guide elements
The fact that our wires ran so cleanly and reproducibly on the braiding machine was not only a proof of performance for us, but also valuable feedback from the real production world.
Strong exchange in a top-class exhibitor environment
Even without our own stand, MD&M Midwest was above all a place for dialog and learning for us. We held many intensive discussions and gained further insights into the current requirements and challenges of our customers and partners - from new miniaturization and material performance to process and regulatory topics.
The exhibitor field reflected the entire supply and production chain of medical technology: testing and approval service providers, sterilization, manufacturing technologies, automation as well as material and complement suppliers. The organizer provides a complete, official list of exhibitors via the MD&M Exhibitor Directory.

Visit to Siri Wire: integration, exchange and looking ahead together
Another important moment of this trip was the visit to our US subsidiary Siri Wire, which we acquired this year. Jürgen Alex and Sebastian Ablas were there to meet the team in person, discuss current projects and the next steps in our joint development. For us, such meetings are more than just a date in the calendar: they represent what the BenderWire Group is all about: growing together across locations, sharing expertise and pooling strengths so that we can offer our customers even better solutions worldwide.
Conclusion
The two days at the trade fair in Minneapolis showed once again how quickly the medtech industry is developing and how crucial high-precision, reliably processable wires are for modern medical devices. The fact that we were able to experience our materials live in the braiding process and at the same time pick up so many concrete ideas in the discussions on site was particularly valuable for us.
The subsequent visit to Siri Wire was the perfect complement to this trip. In a personal exchange with the team, we were able to deepen our collaboration, discuss operational issues and take away new ideas for our joint further development. A further step towards interlinking our MedTech expertise even more closely within the Group internationally.
We are taking away many suggestions from both stops in Minneapolis and look forward to continuing and deepening the discussions and project ideas. If you would like to find out more about BenderWire 304NX, BenderWire 304VX or our precision wire solutions for medical technology, please contact us.
